Kristina Jensen
Kristina Jensen started in state service in 1998; initially she was hired as a paralegal in the underground storage tank program at the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality where she researched historic property and tank ownership, including research to determine access to the State’s environmental clean-up fund, called the “SAF.” Later, Kristina spent several years in the Natural Resources Section of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) assisting the lawyers representing the state’s interest in the statewide water rights adjudication cases. In addition to the water rights work, Kristina also conducted extensive historical and legal research for the attorneys in the office and client agencies. It was during this time that she earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Arizona State University. Shortly thereafter, she accepted a position with the Solicitor General’s office within the AGO. There, Kristina assisted with appellate reviews, election law, and also provided legal research services as an assistant to the library director in the AGO law library. In 2015, Kristina accepted her current position of Deputy Director for the Arizona Medical Board. In the four years since she accepted this position, the role expanded and her duties increased. Among these additional duties is the day to day supervision of the Board’s Information Technology team. Prior to public service, Kristina worked in the retail and wholesale grocery business. As a retail department manager and later as a wholesale product merchandiser, she developed superior management and customer service skills. Since she was a teenager, Kristina has always had an interest in technology and gadgets. Proficient in both Microsoft and Mac environments, Kristina embraces new technologies and always welcomes a new challenge. In her spare time, Kristina spends most of her time hiking, cycling, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys her hobbies of reading, stamp collecting and genealogical research.
